Hi all, welcome Glycine back to Massdrop with the Airman 18! Here are some of my initial thoughts about the watch (the sample we received was 3918.18.LBK8, the blue dial/blue leather strap GMT).
I personally feel that the size of this watch hits a good middle ground; for reference, my wrists are 6.5” in circumference. At 39 x 10.25 mm, the Airman 18 fits extremely well under a shirt cuff. The lugs do extend out quite a bit, which makes the watch wear a little bit larger than the specifications; however, the slight downwards curve of the lugs allow the watch to sit comfortably flat on the wrist.
A couple of comments on the band: I personally like my bracelets a bit tight and had to fasten the buckle on the last hole. People with wrists smaller than 6.5” may have to look for alternative band options. The leather is thick and the tang buckle feels sturdy. Due to the thickness of the band, the strap was a bit stiff right out of the box, though I do anticipate softening over time.
The bidirectional rotating bezel has little play and has the classic Airman locking crown at 4 o’clock. Since this bezel is used for tracking a third timezone for the 24-hour sweep GMT hand, the bezel operates on 48-clicks as opposed to the standard 60 or 120. The quickset for the GMT hand is snappy and easy to work, and the red tip on the GMT hand makes it easy to locate at a glance.
Finally, we get to the dial. The blue-black gradient dial of this model is quite subtle, and can look anywhere from all black to the distinct fade you see in the below photo. It doesn’t play off the light quite as much as it would if it were glossy, but the effect is certainly noticeable. All in all, a solidly-built piece that can perform both as a functional traveler and as a sportier everyday wear.

Vincent.HHi, I am keen to get this blue GMT 24hrs piece as per your photo.
Saw that there is a 2 year's manufacturer's warranty - does it apply to me in Singapore as well?
Thanks!
Barry

Jacobs603It states two year manufacturer warranty, and see this reply from Glycine Head of Operations to me. So we should get this warranty in Singapore with DKSH.
