What do you guys (and gals) think of this "in-house" movement? Is it worth it? I'm a bit hesitant because of the 21J description. I know some cheap Chinese watches (not that there's anything wrong with them being Chinese, they just happen to be, and in fact there's some great Chinese movements) use a 21-22J calibre (DG2813).

PancActually it’s not a Chinese movement it’s a sellita glycine always puts a rotor on it and calls it their own

ED61Thanks. Do you happen to know which Sellita is? They're pretty much at part of eta in quality but it all comes down to calibre and I can't think of any 21j ottomh... Cheers

PancThere is more than likely a misprint here it says 21 jewel that would be eta 2893 but glycine doesn’t use eta anymore so it would be sellita sw300 but that has 25 jewels but glycine definitely doesn’t have an in-house movement

ED61I just found out that Sellita has the SW330-1 (2893-2 eta equivalent) with 21 jewels and GMT. Can any one confirm this is the movement used?

PancNope, I lied (Well not me, the first site i got the info from). You're right it must be a misprint. While the eta has 21J, the Sellita has 25. This must be a case where the copy might be better than the original. And I say might because having more jewels is not always better, though generally it is.

PancIt’s always been a matter up for discussion most people think sellita is the equivalent to eta i personally prefer eta but either way it is a swiss made decent movement

ED61Completely agree. ETA has the cachet but both perform to what you'd expect from the Swiss tradition.
