What's the verdict on these colored cases? Is it PVD, and does it scratch easily? Also a little disappointed that it looks like these dont come with the larger waffled crown, but that might be normal for all of the "Chiefs"...
I've been waiting a while now for either a more interesting bronze cased watch, or true 24 hour, but not sure Im sold on this one... The black dial might just finally be the replacement for my 4992B, but then again the cream might be a little more interesting. If it weren't for that fakey golden-bronzeish finish this might be easier...
I've had the Airman No. 1 for about 3 weeks now. I was apprehensive about the acrylic crystal but it looks great, and given that a big part of this line of watches is being true to history I appreciate that they kept this.
I don't understand why people get so worked up over the quoted MSRP. Yes it's inflated, like every MSRP on this site probably is, but that has zero bearing on whether this is a good deal or not. What determines if it's a good deal is whether you feel it is worth the selling price (NOT the MSRP) and what it is being sold for here vs. what it can actually be bought for elsewhere.
Really? ... protected by acrylic crystal ... yeah, that instills confidence in the mrsp of 2K+ quality. I’m having enough concern about wearing an acrylic face shield at work with my 2 day old N95.
Eyal at the Glycine production meeting at Invicta head quarter's ….. OK, we've got another Mass Drop for "The Chief" .. I've got a great idea for sales! .. We slap a $2700.00 MSRP on it, then list it for $479.00 .. All the suckers, I mean potential customers, will think what a great deal we're giving 'em!! .. Sales will be through the roof!! .. Everybody tell me I'm a genius!! …….. "You're a genius Eyal" ..
Red flags: let me see. No Glycine logo; acrylic crystal; 10m WR; goofy MSRP; yet another Glycine Airman variation (I’ve lost count). This has Invicta written all over it.
Jack921Thanks, I hadn’t heard that. The other issues still bother me though. I have two pre Invicta Glycines: a Combat Sub and a DC4 Airman. Both outstanding watches for the money. I think I’ll leave it at that. I’m currently looking for the right deal on a Tudor Black Bay, or an Omega Seamaster.
Ever feel you're stuck in an endless loop of Glycine--Ingersoll--Glycine--Ingersoll?
It's like deja vu all over again..or maybe Groundhog Day all over again...
