I have this watch, the white-faced version. I bought it for more money at JomaShop. 😢 (They are still $649 at JomaShop, so this drop has a great price at $499).
I really like it. It's a 500-meter watch, so as expected it's big, thick, heavy, and with a Coke-bottle crystal.
The bezel is fully ceramic, not a ceramic insert. It's 60 clicks, which I like, not 120.
The lugs and strap are designed to go straight down, so this works fine on normal wrists, like my 7-inch wrist. It's a big watch, but that's the look. I cut 5 silicone "links" off of each side, which gives me a snug fit when my wrist is at maximum swell, and a looser fit when my wrist slims down, as in the morning.
The strap is a silicone strap with a deployant buckle and dive extension. What that means is metal on top, metal on the bottom, silicone on the sides. The silicone is thick, so the effect is quite a fixed, stiff ring of a watch strap, a completely different feel from a bracelet, or even a leather strap. Kind of interesting.
You have to cut the silicone to fit, so be careful there. A replacement strap from Glycine is about $240 plus shipping. I cut 5 silicone "links" off of each side (it comes with 7 per side), which gives me a snug fit when my wrist is at maximum swell, and a looser fit when my wrist slims down, as in the morning. I did this cutting over three weeks, very nervously, bit by bit. Pro tip: Don't cut on the cut marks. Cut beyond the cut marks to the maximum that will fit in the clasp, so the silicone-to-buckle connection will have maximum rigidity. This amount differs by which side you're cutting. I used an Olfa rotary cutter with a new blade, but anything, even scissors will do. The Olfa let me take off 0.1 mm slivers however.
The watch doesn't work that well with other straps because the case has a slot in it to mate with a ridge on the silicone strap to make it rigid. You can put a leather or other strap on it, but it doesn't look ideal in my opinion.
One other thing: Mine effectively has no usable lume. The lume is black in color, so if I expose it to a hydrogen bomb explosion, it will barely be visible, for maybe 15 minutes. Other colors may have usable lume. I like the crisp, no compromise black on white, so I am willing to forego the lume.
CloacaHi, I was wondering if you could share a picture with the watch on a Nato or leather strap. I'm loving the watch itself but I'm generally not a fan of rubber straps. Thanks for your valuable feedback by the way!
