At at first I wasn’t going to cop *another* Combat Sub, but the day it was due to end I was like “fine, yes, I do need a bronze watch in my life and it will be a reasonably priced example that punches way above its weight class.” I click BUY on the GL0188 and immediately set out to find a complimentary strap. There aren’t a ton of options with bronze hardware, but I found a tan NATO and a Marine National that fit the bill. I then saw a picture of Daniel Craig as James Bond rocking the classic Omega With a Milanese strap and knew what I had to find. A quick search turned up a Geckota in a brass finish, but it was sold out so I settled on the brown option and it was basically the best decision I’ve ever made in my life (outside of marrying my wife). I mean LOOK AT THAT COMBINATION! The brown mesh strap compliments the bronze case and brown dial and bezel perfectly! I flexed it while out with my wife and she was like “seriously, another watch?” but she also noticed it IMMEDIATELY! That means it stands out, because I have a ton of watches and wear all of them. It’s not a Tudor BB bronze, but it’s just as handsome and on the brown Milanese it’s gonna get noticed. So, if you don’t like thumbs ups, knowing smiles, and compliments, buy a basic Timex Weekender and leave it on the stock strap. LOOK AT THIS WATCH, BEHOLD THE BRONZE GOODNESS, and remember it was well under $500. Be prepared to stare at your wrist for a while.
