Recently got a new strap to replace the stock strap (bits are chipping off the stock strap after a little bit of wear). Looks much better and very comfortable. Silicone strap from blushark. I think the Navy and orange might look even better with the bronze case but I was going safe with the dark blue on blue scheme with the blue dial and bezel combo

At at first I wasn’t going to cop *another* Combat Sub, but the day it was due to end I was like “fine, yes, I do need a bronze watch in my life and it will be a reasonably priced example that punches way above its weight class.” I click BUY on the GL0188 and immediately set out to find a complimentary strap. There aren’t a ton of options with bronze hardware, but I found a tan NATO and a Marine National that fit the bill. I then saw a picture of Daniel Craig as James Bond rocking the classic Omega With a Milanese strap and knew what I had to find. A quick search turned up a Geckota in a brass finish, but it was sold out so I settled on the brown option and it was basically the best decision I’ve ever made in my life (outside of marrying my wife). I mean LOOK AT THAT COMBINATION! The brown mesh strap compliments the bronze case and brown dial and bezel perfectly! I flexed it while out with my wife and she was like “seriously, another watch?” but she also noticed it IMMEDIATELY! That means it stands out, because I have a ton of watches and wear all of them. It’s not a Tudor BB bronze, but it’s just as handsome and on the brown Milanese it’s gonna get noticed. So, if you don’t like thumbs ups, knowing smiles, and compliments, buy a basic Timex Weekender and leave it on the stock strap. LOOK AT THIS WATCH, BEHOLD THE BRONZE GOODNESS, and remember it was well under $500. Be prepared to stare at your wrist for a while.

One of THE best Bronzos out there! After trying many styles of bands and straps, I have come to the conclusion that the Marine Nationale is the way to go with these pieces 👌

If anyone got the GL0187 with the black face, hit me up here. I’d be willing to buy it off for slightly more than you paid!

Yeah, I bought one with a previous drop. But I'm sorry, I don't think you'll find someone here that will sell his/her. Have you tried the usual suspects online, such as Creation Watches and Jomashop? I have good experiences with Creation Watches...

I'm talking to someone now that might be willing to, but yeah I figured it couldn't hurt to ask haha. Their prices seem to be a bit higher. I may just wait for a used one to hit the market somewhere. Thanks for the advice!

I was gutted when the last drop sold old, I told myself I'd join in the next time. Was about the pull the trigger and then I asked myself, what do I like about this watch other than that it's bronze? Truthfully, not much. The SS glycine never appealed to me. Looks like a seiko 5 blancpain homage in many ways. I decided to save the money and go for the san martin vintage diver instead.

That's close, but the steinhart does not have the super dome crystal, and the crowguard and the tall crown do ruin it. That steihart with a tudor BB style crown and the bubble crystal (like oris sixty five, or bambino) would have been perfect (for me). The san martin watch I ordered at the top fell through, the seller could not source it from his supplier and san martin have stopped producing it. They have the watch in GMT form, IMHO the GMT bezel is a completely different watch. https://www.wrwatches.com/product-page/san-martin-gmt I just wanted the vintage diver because it was so close to the vintage rolex and the bubble crystal makes it look so special. it's not widely done, which makes it stand out from other sub homages. The GMT san martin has the flat crystal which I am not a fan of.

I bought the GL0281 in Jan this year. The dial has a fade from light to dark from top to bottom, which I didnt expect. The watch would not wind itself. I sent it 3x to the Invicta service (IWSC). Before it was finally fixed. I wont buy another Invicta watch again.

Yeah, sorry to hear you had issues. However, It's not an Invicta watch. That's just as factually wrong as saying Orient watches are Seiko watches....

Honestly, I’ve been waiting for a bronze watch to drop just to show off the pic below. For the Glycine, This seems like a good price, but I’ve just yet to see a glycine piece that Makes me want to open my wallet. And when it comes to bronze, the company that gets it right, for me at least, is Zelos. Hence why I just purchased my second one, below.
