Happened today. The winding has been a little rough/grainy recently. Today after winding the watch I felt a "snap" when I was screwing the crown and then the crown screwed in a lot smoother without any resistance. After I unscrewed the crown to inspect it and pulled it into 2nd position it just came off. I was very happy with this watch and have reviewed it in the past. Hopefully this can be fixed. It's still under 2 year warranty from Glycine. There are 2 official Glycine repair centers in US
  1. Glycine International Watch Repair Center, in Utah
  2. Saltzman's Watches, in Rhode Island
The first one is closer to me and I have used it before without any issues (see my review here), but wondering if anyone else have good/bad experiences with either.

hovo73Well, I sent the watch to Glycine International Watch Repair Center in Utah because I read online that Saltzman's no longer does warranty repair for Glycine (even though it is still listed in Glycine website). They send me $168 invoice for the repairs. It's itemized as follows:
  • Full Reconditioned movement $0 ($349 value).
  • Stem - $30
  • Crown - $90
  • Tube - $19
  • Gasket & H20 - $29
When I called them they said that the warranty doesn't cover the crown, crystal etc. When I asked them how can the crown just fall off while winding the watch, and how is that not a defect, they said that the crown did not just "fall off" it "snapped off" and that can happen if the watch was dropped, took a hit, or was winded while wearing on the wrist. I told them that I have seen dozens of other people online having the same issue, they said they haven't seen it. Now I am left with the decision whether to pay $168 to repair this watch or ...

PooLoverJust an update on this issue... After several calls and email exchanges with IWSC they agreed to reduce the price to $120 (90 for crown, 30 for stem). They claim haven't come across this issue, and think it's caused by accident/negligence. One example of how this could happen they mentioned is winding the watch on the wrist (i.e. you are forced to operate at the angle). I haven't done this, or anything else (drops, hits, etc) but they refuse to take responsibility. Reluctantly I had agreed to pay. (Now that's 120+30 for shipping to get this issue resolved, and based on what I read from other users who have had this issue, there is no guarantee it won't repeat). Very disappointed, I have 2 other Combat Subs (Golden Eye and Bronze) and now I am scared to operate the crown on those watches.

hovo73Any idea if this is related to poor quality control, post Invicta purchase?
