These same Glycine watches are heavily discounted at most online vendors. They are way overpriced at retail price. Very derivative watches.

jontptGlycine watches look like every other desk diver Swiss watch that take inspiration from the top tiered brands. Mid tier brands such as Cerntia, Hamilton, Tissot, Mido among others all have a similar style and price range as Glycine. Though Glycine is skirting the line of being a homage brand. Glycine watches can be had at bargain prices all over the net. Must be a reason they are being closed out at such low prices. Nothing against the company, I own a brass combat. It is a decent watch for the price. I just don't like their dive styled watches. To similar to other watches. A Seiko is a better watch maker in my opinion.

cbsbyteTo some extent you're correct, but the same can be said of many luxury tier watches. Originality, whatever that means these days, is pretty rare, and mostly found in microbrands. As far as specs go, Glycine beats out Seiko in almost every regard, except for the latter's higher end pieces which cost much more. And Glycine is a good deal less expensive than Mido, Hamilton, Certina, etc., so in terms of bang for the buck they're pretty hard to beat.
