Golden eye from previous drop, bezel have a very very slight play, but i don't lose sleep for that,
i'm very happy for this drop and the movement have a good timekeeping too.. at least better than my zenith :(
Hi, yeah the bezel's still good. Had scuff marks noticable in the bezel, but they're still solid and didn't feel wiggly

Bozz_kerenThanks for reply. I fell in love with this watch and ordered it on last drop, but then I read bezel related comments, and I was little concerned. Just had to ask, now I feel little better.
Finally got it today! (I live in Canada). Some initial thoughts:
1. What a stunner, everything feels too notch for the head of the watch. The bracelet could be better but you can always go aftermarket.
2. The bezel aligns perfectly and the click is super satifying (I'm sucker for nice bezels). No play on the bezel either. Colour me super impressed.
3. The winding feels super smooth for an ETA 2824-2. I own a Longines Heritage Diver that uses the same movement but the Combat Sub feels much smoother - definitely a plus in my books.
4. The lume is pretty good. I've seen better but it's definitely good enough for me. Take a look at the picture.
5. This watch is THIN! Wow I didn't expect that at all again considering it's an ETA.
Don't know how ell the movement is regulated right now - will update in a day or two with the plus/minus
In conclusion, I am super impressed with this watch, especially at the price Massdrop had it at. Thank you Massdrop and Glycine!
The size is perfect for anyone. I have a rather small wrist at 6.5 inches. I can definitely see someone with larger wrists wearing this as well. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to get into a Swiss diver :)
PS: thank you Massdrop for using DHL to ship this. The duty into Canada was less than I anticipated.
Hey everyone, you may notice the special pricing on this drop. This price is only going to be around for this one sale, so jump on it while it's here! Happy holidays!
Vincent.HNow that you have shown your cards and we know how much additional profit margin you were making on these, you will have to keep providing them at this price, or people will go elsewhere. It's not like they don't have options.
I'm having second thoughts on the goldeneye, particularly in the fact that it's a bit flashy and colors might not work well with outfits. I feel like a black diver would be a safe choice. Please help.
SC4LM002If you are trying to stay away from the flashy look, I would go 84 or 86 and probably change the strap. I am guessing you didn't want anything on a bracelet since they all appear somewhat flashy...
I am VERY pleased about my combat sub.
GREAT bezel, near perfect alignment, superb dark green color that looks black until light shines on it, nice mate black dial, very understated (new) logo, nice lume (not the greatest but stands with the greats), nice mesh bracelet, ...
Will update with time accuracy soon.
VirguleGreat choice...I also got the green one. Very satisfied...absolute perfect finish and alignment of the watch. This overall quality for this price is a real bargain. Keeps perfect time too...tracked it a couple of days withthe wrist watch cHeck app < - 2 s/d when worn...perfect.
Wondering which size Combat Sub you should buy? Here's some good advice from one of our members--all the way from Australia!
Crikey, who new people in Australia wore watches?! And why do they talk like that anyway? And more importantly, why do they wear their hair like that?
Oh well, we may never know the answers to those questions--but you'll know EXATLY which size to buy once you've checked out his very helpful video on the subject.
And yes--he bought his Combat Sub, right here on MD!
If it wasn't for the cheap bezel construction, I'd buy the Tudor Black Bay homage. For now, it'd probably have to drop to ~$300 for me to jump on it.
I already have the Goldeneye and it's shockingly thin. A huge plus for this watch. It's a dress watch dressed as a diver ;-)
First of all, the thread has been contentious but polite until you came along. Your first comment to me was not only rude and full of gibberish about the period table and gravity, but also directly contradicted by the comment to which you responding. Now I see you are the type that write one thing in a comment and when it is indefensible act like you said something else. i.e. "all aluminum bezels scratch" becomes "just because your watch didn't scratch doesn't mean that aluminum doesn't scratch". See? I never said aluminum didn't scratch, in fact I am certain it will. But it doesn't scratch as easily as you would like to claim and you can own and wear watches with aluminum bezels for a lifetime and not scratch them. The whole issue is does an aluminum bezel mean cheap construction? Is it appropriate when discussing a watch to just say it has cheap bezel construction and not explain why? A $349 watch? No, if you think it is cheap construction you say "the bezel is cheaply constructed because they use aluminum in the insert" (of course so do most other watches so it still doesn't make a lot of sense) .
Expand my mind? Really? Sorry, your very first words to me demonstrate you are mental midget.
Invicta's acquisition of Glycine has not led to cost-cutting measures in terms of design or manufacture. I have yet to hear of an example that took place after the buy-out. Glycine's problems, however grave or superficial anyone perceives them to be, are Glycine's problems. The only negative effect of their association with Invicta is loss of value triggered by snobbish attitudes. Time will tell if any material changes will take place.

Now this is a good drop ! GL087 would be my choice. I like the 088 model
better but they never have it available.
Looks really good with that suit. You and I and many others know that. That’s not dismissed as ‘snobbery’, is it? That is a good look and some of us can tell the rest of us ‘why’ that is and impart knowledge that helps us make our own sound design choices: and we all can look good by learning it. Not snobbery. I know it’s not in-fashion in certain quarters but I pay attention to experts or at least people who obviously have their acts together. Still not snobbery. People who love Glycine have concerns that their favourites not change in a manner that will adversely affect the brand they love or even their investment in that brand. Invicta has been accused of pushing some garishly-bedecked chrome hockey pucks. Glycine needed to be challenged. Invicta could use one, too. Let’s hope it works out.
