Game Madman Wooden Wrist Rest

Hi, I've been using one of these wrist rests for 2 years now, and the finish has suffered where my hands usually rest. Does anyone have the same issue and know which product to use to touch up the finish ? I was thinking of using paste wax, but I'd rather have a confirmation before possibly doing a mistake. Thanks

In spite of all the negativity in here, I'm gonna go ahead and say that I just received the product and am very satisfied. First, it looks really nice. The wood has a deep, dark color which seems to absorb all the light around it. Texture is smooth yet soft: almost velvety. It feels really nice just to move your hand across it: feels nothing like the top of my IKEA desk. Something I really appreciate is that it doesn't have a flat incline: it curves up from a steep gradient into a shallower one. The two large rubber supports have the perfect amount of resistance to stay steady while typing, yet don't resist when you try to shift the wrist rest. Could I have gotten a similar product for cheaper? Maybe. I just needed something to keep my wrists level with the keys. But for something that I will use for the majority of my waking life, I appreciate all of the subtle details that went into improving my experience using this thing.

If you add the basic tools to the pricetag though, the first one you make will cost you around about €22 to buy a plane (€10 on ebay), a spokeshave (€2 on ebay), a saw (€8 on ebay or at any builder's merchants) and the materials (€2). But your second one will cost €2. And you could resell those tools on ebay to get back the majority of your money (and if you cleaned up the plane and the spokeshave and listed them as "vintage", you might make a profit, that tool market is weird). Honestly, it really is about the simplest thing you could make from wood, it's just an offcut trimmed to the right width and length with a saw, and cleaned up to smooth with a plane, that sloped bit at the front done with the plane, and then the corners knocked off it with a spokeshave. You could do it on a kitchen table. And the timber yard I normally buy my timber from would give away offcuts in this size if you just wanted one and they had it kicking around, I've been given larger bits of sapele by them in the past like that.
