I had been waiting for this drop to come around again since forever ... and then I saw that you've rigged it so the prices are through the roof! No wonder the uptake is so sluggish.
I've got an ErgoDox with a Colemak layout. #Extortionate
Maybe the next drop will have translucent lettering and drop kits that make more sense for people who want to mix and match? Best of luck. Still a great looking set of keys, no matter what anyone says :-P
Is that directed at MD, T0mb3ry, or GMK?
@Dgordon - I think I unintentionally touched on issues that relate to each of the above-
MD: A more intelligent grouping of the kits would allow for lower pricing and fewer wasted keys for those who wish to use this keycap set with non-standard keyboards. That alone would encourage greater uptake of this product. The previous drop in June 2017 sold close to 18,000 units. This one couldn't make minimums in many of the categories.
GMK: I realize that you are a boutique / specialty shop, but the price disparity between this drop and the previous (Signature Plastics / SA) drop is painful. If you're going to justify a rather large price hike for something that doesn't need to be re-engineered, then the MOQ should really be in the single digits.
@T0mb3ry : My question about translucent lettering was sincere. Is it feasible to work in translucent material with the colours of this design? As the person who "owns" the design, are you OK with moving in this direction? Is there any other demand for this? Anyone else using Carbon keycaps with backlit boards?
The way Cherry caps are set up together is not viable for translucent plastic. Say you cant do properly done shine through keycaps. Other wise you need complete new molds for such approach and that will cost a fortune.
By the way, people are using GMK keycaps with backlit keyboards without any issues.

The only reason I'd want illuminated keys is so that I could pick out seldom used keys while working with the lights out. I imagine having a backlit keyboard without illuminating the key legends would actually make it harder to make out which key was which in the dark.
I'm an engineer. I'm sure I'll think of something. :-P
Best of luck to you, and I hope this and future drops go well.
