Even if it looks like many kits did not met its MOQ - it is better you join for every kit you want to acquire. After the drop ends you will be able to adjust your order in case one of you desired kits does not make it into production ;) DISCLAIMER The photos (not the renders) on the drop page are showing GMK Carbon from round 1 with tradition rows. In this drop the product will have different function and bottom row. !!!!VERY IMPORTANT!!!! Carbon Cadet kit is not meant as alphas replacement. Its more a novelty kit. Its missing complete number row and several key in the right half of usual alphas. You will not be able to use it as alphas! Its mean to be used with one of the base sets or with GMK Carbon base from the first round.

aye, I would like to see Massdrop do more keycap drops (why only one at a time?) and prefer newer stuff instead of what is this, the fourth Carbon drop in less than as many years?

Then don’t buy them lol. Would you prefer it if they were just offering one kit that was $500 that included everything? The base set alone covers pretty much everything except obscure ortho/colevrak

For those waiting with bated breath, it was confirmed on Geekhack earlier today that only Colevrak and NorDeUK kits are canceled. All other kits will be produced. [Edit: added graph.]

GMK Shoko on Kono is a new set, and GB runner today sent an email that indicated that the original GMK quote was wrong, and they reduced the base to $137.99 USD. Did GMK quote wrong for the Carbon R2 too? Something similar but quoted much higher for Carbon R2? $23 will make a huge difference to some buyers. Please reduce the price to a normal GMK GB pricing and let's make it a success for the community, not base success solely based on profit generated. Proof:

I totally agree with you. Actually I do research on the topic of crowdsourcing. It is a good idea, but has many limitations, as we see here. People who vote are usually those who are most enthusiastic, and could well be those "vocal minority." For example, people who want split backspace or ISO are usually those who writes many posts in order to get the attention of GB runners. But at the end of the day, very few people need those features, which most likely increases cost for everyone, if made into production.

OldCat*Raises hand in favor of split backspace..* At least on sub TKL boards anyways. I'm just frustrated because Carbon is one of my favorite colorways, but I can't drop $250 to $300 on it when like 3 of my end game sets are about to happen. Edit: Actually it would be $323 to get the kits I want..

Hey quick note to everyone while everyone is waiting. I'm still sorting through the various kits to see what we can make happen and what's actually too far away. We'll have an update out to everyone affected soon. There are quite a few factors to consider so it's taking a bit longer than usual. Thank you for your patience in the meantime! Regarding Salty Kit - I think there was a price error - we'll get everyone a refund if that was the case. I'd like to get everything addressed together so nothing has happened here even though it's cut and dried. 12/6 Update: Salty kit refunds should be going out today.

You're chiming in with your opinion without even fully reading the conversation. He's misplaced his num 1. He asked a harmless and easy question to answer. Tom responded completely childish and arrogantly to the query. Tragesty is right to be annoyed at that response and of you two. He may seem to be a bit over the top and that's probably just because it was a simple question. I think the 3 of you need to either take a long look at yourselves or just sit down.

Too expensive, even for GMK... really a shame. I bought Laser and to see the prices jump up this much is startling. Even accounting for the costs of new molds, I feel like we're crossing the line where some people start to not spend such an amount for caps (especially for non-base kits), which is probably why the drop isn't doing as well as it did before. I'm not sure if I'll purchase anything, even though I'm a really huge fan of this colour scheme and was looking forward to the drop. Best of luck with the drop, @T0mb3ry

The only price that really jumps out at me is the space kit. I'm guessing it's the cost of the 1.25u R5 molds spread out across several kits?
