I guess I'm one of the few that don't really like loud typing, but love mechanical keyboards. o_O Love using Cherry speed silvers and silencing clips. These are much cheaper than the Zealencio drop that I also joined, and work just as well. Since I use silvers the reduced keystroke travel doesn't bother me much and the sound dampening is definitely noticeable.

The sound dampening is much better than expected and better than o-rings, at least on Cherry MX Clears, Cherry MX Browns and retooled Cherry MX Blacks. Makes keyboards definitely more office-compatible than o-rings. ;-) I though didn't notice much of a difference between only QMX clips and QMX clips plus o-rings. So I ditched all the o-rings. The QMX clips don't fit on e.g. Kailh Browns, but fitting on non-cherry switches has to be expected (as GMK is kinda related with Cherry by having taken over their keycap molding tools) and also mentioned on the manufacturer's product page. The contained tool is very precisely made for its purpose and you just have to slightly press it onto a clip in the packaging and it sticks to the tool and can be applied. It though partially needs quite a lot of force to make the clip to sit properly on the switch, especially on 2u keys with stabilizers. Nevertheless I never broke one. But yes, they look quite fragile. There's though one points which I think is rather annoying and probably could have been avoided: If you have a backlit keyboard with front legends, i.e. the switches are mounted with the LED to the front, the QMX clip blead quite some more light towards the user than the switches did before without the clips. Which is annoying at least with low profile cases. (This all is e.g. the case with the Tex Yoda II.) Otherwise I'd given 5 of 5 points. At least I'm so happy with their sound dampening characteristics that I ordered two more sets, but this time directly from Uniqey/GMK. Ah, one more thing: If used with Cherry MX Silent Red switches, they actually make the switch louder. So you can't use it to make an already silent board with Cherry MX Silent Red (and probably also Cherry MX Silent Black) even more silent. Update, 2019-Aug-09: Added retooled Cherry MX Black to the list of switches tried with QMX clips.

XTaranmany thanks for this comment, esp. the point about silent reds

XTaranI can verify that. I tried them on my Leopold FC660M PD Silent Red, which was unbelievably counterproductive. I can't tell if they made Silent Red noisier, but definitely not quieter. Personally I don't really mind the noise, since I almost always use my earplugs alone, when possible. But these brackets are useful when I am in school. I think they are a bit better than O rings.

Everyone says how great these are at making the keystrokes quieter, which is obviously the case, but no one mentions just how much it changes the feel, at least on light tactile/linear switches. The bottom out is a lot softer, but the difference is less intrusive than installing O-rings. I'd imagine that on very tactile switches this would be hard to notice. Also even though people say these are hard to remove i found it pretty easy and didn't damage a single one switching them between two keyboards two times.

Nowhere on this drop does in mention that these clips do not work on any version of Kailh switches and neither does it mention that they don't work on Zilents. If you look at the actual product page (on the website of the people that make this product) it states that they only support Cherry switches. Why is is so hard for Drop to just relay that information to potential buyers of this drop. Why do I have to go to an external source to get this information? Just copy/paste all the information on the original product page onto the Drop so you don't miss anything! Once more: do your own research. Don't even trust support. After I bought these and they didn't work with my huge variety of Kailh switches, they told me they would work fine with Zilents (which I was planning on buying since these clips don't work with the switches I own). So I bought a bunch of Zilents. Yes the clips will connect to Zilents when you are just holding the switch and clip in your hands. But once you put the Zilent switch into an actual keyboard, the clip pops off. So, why would it be useful to me to have a clip that "works" on a switch as long as I don't actually use the switch in a keyboard? Thanks support! Don't trust the information in the drop. Don't trust information that support gives you. Only trust your own research, "Drop" is just another money hungry company that will do anything to squeeze another cent out of you.

It's a very interesting product
Be very aware of what version you're ordering. If your keyboard has a plate, chances are the PCB version won't fit even if you're soldering the switches. Overall though, it does quiet down the switch because it prevents it from bottoming out.

It's been almost 2 months since I put these on my old Filco Majestouch-2 TKL with Cherry MX Browns. I tend to key smash as the day goes on, which is fine at home, but not so much at work. I was intentionally looking to reduce key travel since I didn't feel like o-rings were making much of a difference. These are a significant improvement. I can smash away and coworkers no longer notice (except for the few times when I'm coding something particularly spicy). Installation was a bit tricky. It took a couple attempts to get the first one installed properly, but it was fairly straightforward after that. Keys definitely feel squishier, and I did notice that sometimes keys would stick if I smashed too hard. Neither were an issue once I got used to it. I don't know if I would use these on any of my nicer keyboards, but they are great for making my older/lesser used ones tolerable at work.

I've only used these with OEM profile keycaps and they work exceptionally well, except for 1.25u caps, as I have noticed that those caps stick to the bracket when pressed (sometimes). I don't know if that's a cleaning, profile, or bracket issue, but in any case I would definitely recommend these.

Sounds great, looks odd.
These did an amazing job with the sound on my keys (Holy Pandas) and took out any of the sharper sounds during hard typing. I didn't realize it was going to reduce the travel as much as it did, but I actually really like that. It eliminated most of the pre-travel to the tactile bump, and has made it feel as if I had stiffer springs. This is a bonus for me because I was thinking about ordering heavier springs. They also seem to reduce stem wobble just a tiny bit. I think these do not look good on low profile keyboards, I would like them more if you could order them in a solid color. But I understand a lot of people need clear ones for RGB switches.
