No Win key either :P. The CODE keys make the OS key independent of whatever system you are using.
Add the extra keys, price goes up, people cry. Don't add the keys, not to people's requirement, people cry.
Sad truth of this and many hobbies where individual taste plays a big role.

The CODE key would be used. There is no WIN-key either. It's meant to be system neutral, probably the first I've seen on a GMK set. This is actually a blessing for OSX users.

This is how I'm so happy with my blank dark HHKB keyboard and keycaps. I've adjusted blank caps to various functions on both Win and Mac for my changing taste. But, all the same, it's not all that hard to use the WIN key as the CMD key, given that most mech kbs are Win based. Plus, personally, I type anything from Latin to Chinese to Japanese scripts, warranting heavy use of mod keys...
I'm, for this drop, happy to see so many basic keys in a single set, relieving the need for multiple add-ons like all other previous drops that ask you to buy separate iso keys, orientation F and Js, and so on. This one doesn't involve much variety, but really not bad.

well, any other GMK keyset will only have these ugly windows keys, which would look out of place with your macbook. the only "solutions" to the ugly windows key problem were to: 1. use blanks (only possible for sets that provide them, and they are rare), or 2. use wkl bottom row (cannot use 'win' key, duh), or 3. use 1.5-1-1.5 bottom row arrangement with arrow keys in place of the win keys (only works if we don't use the arrows, like with 60% keyboards. definitely better but still ugly).
this is the first time a GMK set will fit into a standard keyboard without having to use any of the above "solutions". this is a huge progress.

Just realized this is what your keycap manifesto is about lol. I agree 110% with your manifesto then and that's why I jump on Granite, the winkey is optional there.

Yeah my mistakes, didn't really see the CODE one lol. What I really mean back then is CMD (text/icon) sublegend like one in HHKB, cause this set is subsubsublegend-oriented 🤓

I appreciate the love of typewriters that inspired the drop. Still, this wall-to-wall light grey plastic aesthetic is a reminder of why 1980s-90s cubicle culture was so soul-destroying. But the modifiers set is good way to add accents to other keysets. Especially liking the subtle "code" winkey replacement, and hope we see more OS-neutral sets.

pretty much everything from SP these days doesn't have the ugly win keys. in SP land, the problem has been solved years ago. it is something you've taken for granted with SP. you order something from SP, you can be sure you don't pay $200 to stare at some unwanted keys.
but not everyone loves SA or DSA. and their DCS are thin.

well, to think of it, I think it is a good idea to add "option" sublegend on alt. but I don't think adding 'cmd' to CODE is a good idea, they are already platform neutral.

Agree, with CODE there should be nothing else on it, not like the Alt when it still make sense to add Option. If another legend wanna share space with Cmd it should be Winkey, not something neutral like CODE.
But I still pay $200 for Granite since I didn't know what keyboard will become their home 😭 (And still stupidly forgot including Pro Mod..)
