You lost me at solid white base set for $115. Wat?

AstuteTunaColor has little to do with the price of manufacturing, not sure what logic you are using. And it's not white but very light grey.

mohitgarg'Solid white' was obviously meant to indicate the lack of the alternate colors in the base set, but sure you can argue that it's pastel charcoal or whatever.

AstuteTunaGMK prices may seem steep, but I think there is an actual reason for that. There aren't really that many producers of thick doubleshot ABS-keycaps. The only ds producers that come to my mind are Tai-Hao (extremely thin), Signature Plastic (equally thin DCS, slightly thicker DSA) and JTK (actually thick ABS).
While Tai-Hao is actually cheap, SP is quite expensive (nearly as expensive as GMK) and JTK is reasonably priced, but there are no ISO-options and they are pretty new to the game, so nobody knows how well their keycaps will age. If I'm not mistaken, GMK still produces in Germany which doesn't exactly benefit the price either.
I know GMK GBs always seem incredibly expensive, especially compared with f.e. the dirt cheap Vortex doubleshot PBT keycaps (which have pretty warped legends and like 3 colours total), but there just is no another, cheaper way to achieve this colourway. Especially if you want pad-printed ABS doubleshots.

SankartThat's fine. And there will be plenty of people who have no issues with the price point. I just personally can't justify it on my end.

AstuteTunaYour comment on the GMK SNES thread: "I'm a newbie. If this launches it will be the first keycap set I've ever purchased. And I didn't even bat an eye at the price."
This set is also GMK and it's slightly cheaper than the SNES, which was priced at $119. If you don't like the colors, that's fine, but don't complain about the price when you were willing to dive right into the SNES buy.

eksuenYou mean the one that never reached MOQ because everyone said it was too expensive to buy into?

AstuteTunaIt had nothing to do with the price and everything to do with whether or not people liked the color/design scheme. The GMK SNES set had an MOQ of 500 because it used custom colors, and it didn't make it. The GMK TA set also used custom colors, but sold over a thousand sets. This set uses standard colors out of GMK's offerings and thus has a much lower MOQ. Try again.

eksuenJust to add, at the 500 number, this set would be substantially cheaper. :)

eksuenTo @Mohitgarg 's point, this set through I'm sure a conversation between GMK and MassDrop is only 150 MOQ and yeah, there are expected drop points to help move this set to production. I wouldn't be surprised if like the 1976 caps that sold over a thousand, that this would certainly exceed 150.

JediNo doubt that 150moq is absoultely easier to attain than 500moq.
