Quick note for everyone worried about Laser compatibility. GMK will include the spacebar to ensure compatibility free of charge.
I believe GMK also included free keycaps to ensure compatibility with GMK Yuri and GMK Nautilus.

the 7 u spacebar is 7 19.05mm units, which means it actually includes the 6 gaps between the 7 keys.

Hey everyone,
Many of you might ask for an update very soon so I thought I can help and provide the latest from GMK.Since this is the initial batch of the C70, we want to make sure everything can go as smooth as possible. GMK has informed us that they are still in the process of manufacturing of the keyboards but are still missing parts from one of our suppliers who has unfortunately postponed the initial delivery date.
Team GMK is currently in touch to get a new ETA for these parts. As soon as we have more information about this topic, we will update you accordingly.
Apologies in advance for the delay and thank you all for supporting this wonderful drop!

Why did I bother putting in funds 7 months in advanced when there was no initiative for 1st time buyers (with delay and setbacks)
Might as well let the $300+ USD rot in the bank accruing 1% interest.

i also complained about the high price.. but livingspeedbump and Zambumon made good points. and your 100% correct beats is not comparable with this..i own a pair of beyerdynamic T5p most people don't even konw the brand let alone the high price of $900 it was a impuls buy hahah still you can't compare that german build quality with Beats hype branding.. still good quality doesn't have to be expensive "Audio-Technica ATH-M50x"

This thing kind of infuriates me for the price when it's using atypical key sizes and keycaps made of ABS. I mean, ABS isn't garbage or anything, but PBT is the darling material of choice, right? Haha. On top of that, the strange, swappable USB port seems to be a significantly less useful feature than, for instance, hot-swappable keyswitches.
I'm definitely glad it's been made for the sake of those that would really find use for it, but what it offers versus the price just seems a bit nuts to me.
Might come in the future but for now I don't believe it is possible. GMK wants to be able to support these keyboards and that can be tricky if people brick them trying to flash their firmware because they don't know how to do it correctly. I also know that Jack would surely be approached first if that were to happen. I can definitely talk to GMK about this and see where things stand though!

OMG did you say $300 ?? i just heard my wallet cry out to me !! a Fully programmable Topre board will cost me €240 so this better be near perfect as humanly possible...btw the Q100 costs €265 and that's a full size board. so this is way way to expensive guys..The whitefox is $170 so how did you come to the market value of $300 ?

The Norbauer case and iPhone are all Chinese made. So are the other funky Chinese keyboards. You get what you ordered. The WhiteFox sucks because it sucks. (Owned a round 1 once.)
Anyhow, this seems a fair price for a fully loaded custom keyboard. And I have some confidence because of GMK's consistency in quality. Good luck with the drop!
@WinkeylessThis is a very valid point, and I hope it didn't sound like i thought ALL Chinese stuff was not good. The KBD and RS stuff is generally great value for the money. (KBD 75 was great bang for the buck, far better than RS was in comparison).
What I do know is that it is much, much harder to get consistent quality without constant supervision from a lot of Chinese factories(there are exceptions, especially if you own/run a factory there). I've also heard stellar things about the Kailh factory, and in generally CN is definitely stepping up in a ton of ways. But GMK can keep a much closer eye when this is made nearby at a factory they know and trust already, and can ensure only the best quality.
The WhiteFox was also designed far more with price and selling tons of units in mind over quality, which is fine. There is a market for that, without a doubt. This is not the case for the Q70 though.

i'm sure you could find cheaper boards with just as good build quality elsewhere, but, if you feel like it's worth it, that's all that matters.

From the looks of it (at the time of this post), it's not for anyone.
Already irks me that the price is $300 and it uses ~$50 of AL for the case. I'd bet money that largest reason for the price was labor in getting the parts milled.

I love the looks and aestethic of the board, but am not in the market for a 70% board. A fair price would be 200-250 for me. But that’s me, others might spend 300 bucks on it.
By the looks of it not many though. I doubt it’ll sell more than a 100 pieces (although I hope it’ll sell many more, the designers certainly deserve it!)

Still only 3 purchased?? Great job "think tank!" Maybe next time you'll think twice about snubbing SA keycappers.

For a product made 100% in Germany, I think it is a fair price. Look at other full custom aluminium keyboards with the best quality keycaps, they go way over this price, even the ones made in China.

derzemelI have to agree. I know in my earlier comment I mentioned that I wouldn't be buying one for the reasons stated, but I personally don't think that this is an unfair price for this board. Heck, if my Varmilo 68 wasn't already decked out in almost exactly the same caps (honeywell and ceresia) I probably still would have bought one myself.
I think people are just a little miffed about compatibility in the bottom row at that price point though, which I can understand too. All in all I think it's a really sexy board at a price that reflects its quality, but it's also a pretty niche product.

I like it, depending on the price and the situation to be able to get a kit in Germany i might get one.
What i don't like, six people, I've deepest respect for!, stand for the design of a so called True Community Custom and decide for the rest of us.
This is going to be sold here at Massdrop (Community), which might be the best bet for people out of Europe, would it had been to much to ask and involve the Community.
Maybe this would have been a longer process with a lot of more controversy, but honestly I'm not fond of so called Think Tanks. They tend to live and think in their own bubble, this may sound harsh, but i don't know how to express better.

You might be closer to the truth than you would expect it to be. But i like it that way, there's a lot of positive and creative potential in insanity.
I don't know if this could be said about stupidity, too.

Why? It has standard keycaps, 75% layout, OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE, high quality materials, functions keys, USB type-C connections on both sides!!!!!!!!! These guys know keyboards. I don't like the fact that it doesn't have gmk keys and cherry switches, but still.... they did something good, with an open spirit.
Please guys from this GB, invent another interesting layout. Another incompatible keyset. Please. LOL. Next one? Please, make it staggered, and ortholinear. And absoluterly no QWERTY, I'd like to suggest a scuplted AWERGFSDFGDSF layout. And add some unique and incompatible keys. May I suggest a 1.193982374 units modifier? That would be really good. Imagine the LULZ when someone can't use his keys. Do it. Please.
