I use as a bag organizer. I have not carried as external bag.
I like the separation compartments. It is very light. I have no opinion about durability yet.
Exactly what I wanted....but.....I'm a hammock camper. I got this to consolidate all my shelter/sleeping components into one bag. It worked perfectly, except when I went to draw the cinch cord It ripped the stitching. Being double ended, you lose a little space when stuffing it. If it had a flat bottom, I would not have had an issue. Also, the maker could have reinforced the draw string pull through by doubling up the fabric or adding a small square of grosgrain or cordura fabric and a grommet. If I had not needed to have the bottom cinched tight for stuffing, I don't thing the stiching would have popped either. If it was squared off & flat, I could have crammed things to the bottom mush easier. So, I'm giving 3 stars. Is it worth it? Yeah, I think so. Can it be improved upon...absolutely. It was so close. But...back to the dry bag stuff sack for me.
rudedoggg27Hi @Jmsaingery honestly it looks like you just got a defective one. We can replace. And you can try our SegSag, which has the flat bottom you speak of. Reach out to our support team please!
So far useful. I use it to organise things when travelling. And I like it. Also compresses quite well. I have a few times also used it as a standalone bag and it is also fine for that. The straps are ok, the end closures were not properly mounted but that is a 2 second work. Else I like the concept and there is less mess in my bags since I use it. I should have put 4 stars overall but give 5 to compensate for the previous low reviews
Would give it zero stars. The toggles do not hold. Both the top @ bottom are toggled and the compression straps just flop around. Totally useless. Don’t buy.
TLDNR: Not very useful as a divider for a sac bag due to lack of rigidity. Better as a picnic or weekend bag.
Bought this for my 22 L sac-style hiking bag. It's a good idea, but there are 2 major issues, preventing it from being actually useful. The first problem is that there is no means to hold the Gobi attached to the top of the bag, and therefore it keeps sagging and being drawn down. I tried clasping them but since the fabric is so thin, it kept slipping away. That makes it harder to get to the stuff in the dividers. This brings me to the second issue. The dividers lack any rigidity. This causes them to be very floppy and lose shape as the objects in them get pushed around, making it more difficult to find them. I bought the Gobi with the strap, and have used it as a picnic carry bag, and it was pretty comfortable and spacy as such.
