*NOTE: This is for the Double Sided version only - post 48 hour burn in comments* Okay, here is my Not-Really-TLDR review follow up to my first impressions novel post before the Drop ends for anyone on the fence. All of my original statements in that post still pretty much hold true, but the GL2000 ages like a fine wine. So, the GL2000 definitely improves in sound after the 48 hour burn in recommended by the manufacturer. Since my initial post/review, the soundstage seems to of widened with the sound filling out more, I haven't had any fatigue or painful sibilance, and there seems to be a very slight thickening of bass rumble but its still a flat-ish bass response, though the bass is very responsive and plentiful - But don't expect any boosted sub-bass from this set. *It also sounds great on a hybrid tube amp (XDuoo TA-20) which adds oomph.* GL2000 has incredible imaging, technical ability, resolution and detail retrieval all up there with the Arya, while the vocal performance performs well above the GL2000's price point. The Arya still beats it out in overall soundstage (airy), sound depth/decay, and fullness to bass/lower mids... but it's a lot closer after the burn in and at times it's getting tough to differentiate. If you have not heard the Arya before and someone handed the GL2000 to you and told you it was one, you'd probably believe them - that is until you actually hear the Arya ;] As long as you are NOT a bass head, or a heavy listener of hardcore rap with repetitive and boring over accentuated sub bass beats talking about money and nice ladies, or someone who does not like detailed headphones... you will like this a lot. Turn on any Yosi Horikawa song, sit back and relax in total bliss. Hype or not, I spent my own money on this set as well as my Arya and while I'd love to justify the price difference... it is really hard to because this headset performs extremely well for its price and destroys headphones like the Monoprice M1570. I actually had my eye on this set before the hype so I'm glad it happened or else I might of missed this gem. Truly worth it, I'll be reaching for this a lot. Shout out to the real hero @zhugunic for making me and some others aware of where we could get this fast (sold out now though). Don't forget to join the growing discord and chill with other audio/gaming nerds like me, link in my profile! Here's bonus headphone p0rn, later and enjoy... I know I will !

Muscle_CowThanks for the follow ups. The maturing seems to do the expected wonders. I will have to wait for my pair of double magnets but it seems to be worth it. /JM

Muscle_CowSo glad to hear that the sibilance is recessed after the burn in, amazing and very descriptive on the review.

DjangomeisterYea I haven't had any real bad experience over the entire weekend, though I've only really had one real bad experience with painful sibilance and that was gaming on my Sendy Aiva. Other than that, there is always the easy foam insert mod if anyone needed to tame it down. One thing I forgot to mention... these are naturally large fitting so if you do have a really small head (like Antroid said after https://youtu.be/kS1bhzRe-Kk?t=536) they will probably fit too big on your head and you may need to get nuggets or something. My head is a decent size (especially with my hair lol) and I wear these on a very low extension setting.

Muscle_CowYou said somewhere that they have 3 years warranty? Linsoul messaged me that they have just 1 year warranty, is this because I bought from Amazon, which I guess is also the same if you buy directly from Linsoul?

PafkataThe pamphlet inside the case that you get translates to "3 year warranty" but I do not know if that holds over into retailers. The 1 year from Linsoul might be from them directly and not the manufacturer... just like Drop only does 30 days. I bought from Taobao which appears to be direct from manufacturer... I guess it would depend if they would honor their standard 3 years on sets sold via Linsoul or Drop if you contacted them directly. As long as Drop is receiving their stock from the manufacturer directly... it SHOULD carry into purchases here but I have no idea if it will... I was trying to get someone from @Drop to comment on that but haven't seen a post here yet. When I worked in retail, it worked that way as long as the retailer is authorized so, I don't see why they wouldn't honor the 3 years but again don't take my opinions as facts.

Muscle_CowI actually found the official goldplanar website, but the headphones don't exist there (or at least I didn't find it after translating the page). Anyway, so you are saying that if I need to use the 3 year warranty, I should contact GoldPlanar directly, because if I contact Linsoul they will provide only 1 year of warranty services?

Muscle_CowWhat headphones would you recommend for those who are bass heads, love listening to rap, and like detailed headphones?

AMDloverThe Drop + Fostex TR-X00 Purplehearts that I have would be good for that, but they unfortunately don't make them anymore so unless you find second hand, but you could look into similar style Fostex headphones (Fostex TH-610 for example, but more $$) as they should have a similar sound profile but the purplehearts are known for their bass. E-MU Teak also have a pretty decent bass response while retaining some detail since they are similar headphones/drivers, albeit neither of these can give the detail that the GL2000 does. I hear good things about some of the Denon headphones too but I can't comment on much past the Purplehearts and E-Mu as they are all that I've personally heard/own. Meze Noir 99 classics (https://drop.com/buy/massdrop-x-meze-99-noir-closed-back-headphones) have A LOT of bass and are fun sounding for a decent price, they still have okay detail but no where near GL2000 levels. UN DIA (One Day) track has a ton of strong thick bass hits with the Meze, sounds girthy. They're honestly a really decent pair of headphones for $200, but not good if you have a very large head, they fit small.

PCgaming4everYea no the ear cups are a silver painted plastic and the yoke/headband are lightweight aluminum, I think I put that somewhere in my write ups but there's been much talk lol. I wonder who originally said that the ear cups were metal? I mean they did a fantastic job matching up the colour with the paint though.

Muscle_CowYeah they did a fantastic job with the color match. Someone on another form said that Z reviews said it was metal but I would have to go watch the video again myself to verify that since I don't remember if he did or didn't. I know a few people on some forms got the impression it was all metal.

PCgaming4everI mean when I first took it out of the case I thought it was metal for awhile because it was cold as heck from transport during winter and couldn't tell any difference since it is matched so well. I only noticed it later on after I took it off and looked at it and felt it at a room temperature.

Muscle_CowI love your description of modern rap hahaha... Rappers are a bunch of people either flexing their unhealthy lifestyles or pretending to be oppressed when they are millionaires. The Arya is better overall than these, what about the Ananda? I am considering gl2000, Ananda, m1570 and elex
