OK, What alot of people are not realizing is this. The price is fine. It is Actually on the low end for the spectrum from most makers these days. GSK normally have raffles that sell for $65 + shipping. They have tons of people lining up to pay that for their weekly raffles. This particular cap is put out there so you can have a chance to own something from GSK , rather than depend on your chances of winning a normal raffle, Which can be rather low, And you may go months without winning a single cap. The caps in this sale are matt resin casting. They are not shiny, but I can attest that they look wonderful in person. The fur looks more natural with the non gloss finish. It actually makes the color more vivid as well. (unfornutally these pictures posted on the drop are over exposed ) You guys should look here for more pictures of the matt finish caps, under normal lighting. https://www.instagram.com/goldenstar_keycap/ They look fantastic in person, there is no denying it. This is my own personal Comission that GSK did for me. I Paid 4x + more per cap than what you guys are talking about here. But the point is, that for a $46 dollar cap, that will be in a "Group Buy" Have your expectations set correctly... They are good caps and will be a great focal point of your keeb if you are just getting started collecting artisans.

Kyren22Wow you really dont get it do you. I would take one of these over those encapsulated keycaps anyday, mainly because I dont like those kinds of caps. It doesnt attract me. Same as this one might not attract you. And thats fine.. Bucko..

I’m sorry but that cap just looks poorly done. Not attractive at all rough execution.

I don't agree with everyone here. I don't see anything wrong with the sculpt and the coloring. I think it looks great. And the color is well done. You also have to keep in mind that drop's photos mutes and desaturates the actual color due to their studio lighting. GSK is pretty reputable and their raffles usually go around 60usd. The price for this keycap is decent for a large volume run. Sure I could argue that it would still be fair if it's priced at ard 35usd to 40usd, but if it comes with the usual GSK packaging, I'm not complaining. When it comes to pricing with artisans, it's hard to say the standard. It's entirely up to the artisan maker how they want to price their keycaps.

As an enthusiast I disagree, I own artisans from $20 all the way to $100 and above. Please do keep in mind that this is a hobby where high end keycap sets go for at least $120, high end keyboards go for at least $400-500. I kid you not that there are makers, that I do respect and support, who sells resin blanks at $40+. The color combination is not bad, they are made to match with existing and upcoming GMK keysets. I love the matte resin on these compared to my $100 Keyforge Shishi. I don't see the 'worst finish and smoothing surface ever' you are talking about. You probably came to that conclusion because your perception of quality are limited to those makers. I respect hotkeysproject and dwarf factory, but you have to understand why their prices are low even though their quality is nothing to scoff at. As for Zomo, I personally don't classify their caps as artisans, but just novelties, but that's just me, if you do, that's totally fine. Zomo are cnc machined keycaps. Volume of production, size of studio, labor cost and other factors all come in play in determining the price. I can't imagine what would happen if more established makers decided to sell on drop only to get bashed by people who don't understand and value their work.
YellowhaloI feel that the mix of wanting low volume/exclusivity prevents popular, enthusiast makers from the desire of selling on our platform. The raffle method is successful for most of the ones that I've spoke to because it generates hype and gives them a control of how much they can create. There are however, many artisan that have quantity limits based on their ability and I've had some complaints and criticism of the drop ending too early. Even for wrist rests, keycap sets - etc. Bashing and criticism will always be a thing in the community but it's finally nice to hear someone voice out the right information with my agreement :)
Howdy artisan collectors, I've included some images of the keycap in a more "natural" setting that better depicts the caps in the real world rather in studio photography. The colors look great in person and like @DillonHightower said, the matte resin casting results in a nice color and texture.

Yikes, this artisan looks rushed. Not worth the asking price at all. Don't understand how this has more backing than previous artisans to fail, that only looked better than these.
@Kyren22 Unfortunately our brand guidelines dictates that products have to fill the image "space' rather than be depicted as more true to size. This affects many artisans that definitely look better in real life than in pictures, where having it magnified is not great. I can attest that the samples on hand look great, and the images don't really do it justice.

I have $45-60 artisans, this ain't on par with a SINGLE one of them. It's a fact these aren't worth the asking price. How many have sold is a very accurate representation of such.

GSK does amazing stuff. I own a handful of their caps and their quality is top notch. Pricing is always something that no one agrees on, but FWIW, I recommend GSK. They do great stuff.

These look fantastic. I want all the colors but a bulk buy would put me on the streets real quick. Wish there was a deal for buying multiple caps.

I really like the idea, seriously. I even got excited when I got to see the pic in my inbox. That Healed Monkey King would have looked good in my Filco Majestouch2 Camou TKL as well, BUT the quality really needs a bit more work and not to mention the price. :(
