radpoodleIt should have been priced at 500. Not only is it probably worse than AAA 789, but even at it's category (AKA Ultra-high power headphone amplifiers) I doubt it can compete against Master 9, Little Dot MKVIII+, or Kinki THR-1.

KhronusWhere are you getting your facts from? This is a quad pumped class A amplifier, looking at the inside pic its extremely well laid out with premium components. You will never notice the difference in 113db Signal to Noise or anything higher. It's simply not possible to notice it. Also, Schit's specifications tend to be a little on the wishful thinking side. Just check out Audio Science Review and what they think of some of Schit's products. And they measure the amplifiers and put them through a battery of tests. I will admit the price is a little on the high side, hopefully some reviews will come in. I have not seen any lately on this product. Just saying. I don't actually have this amp by the way. I have the iFi Pro iCAN.

GenpattonjamesThis sub is extremely idiotic it seems. Anything priced over a AAA789 is automatically garbage in their eyes lol Not to defend this product though as I've never used it nor do I endorse it but it's not even in the same category of amps...

legaceezMaster 9, Kinki THR 1 and similar are subjectively better than THX AAA 789. On the other hand, this could simply be yet another overpriced headphone amplifier that touts itself based on power- like RSA Black Star.

legaceezthe 789 is driving my Utopia quite nicely.... that said may look at a tube amp as alternative.... always can't decide between KT88 and EL34 but seems the new Cayin HA6A solved my problem

FatDoiDon't get me wrong of course, the 789 is a great amp and an exceptional value especially at it's reduced price. For what it is the 789 is certainly lacking in some features. But yea some people need to realize that this hobby should be fun also. Not just about being "analytical" and best bang for the buck. Truth be told some people just like spending more money lol I have 2 tube-amps myself that I usually prefer over my solid state ones. They just sound better to be *shrug*

legaceeztrue.... no one piece of gear can be all and end all.... i was naive enough to think there're 'endgame' gears when i entered the hobby... little did i realize every piece of gear has its pros and cons, multiple by number of pieces from media file/cd to the ears.... there are so many variables to be considered to achieve a compromise in the end......
