Is there any reason that the knees and buttocks area aren’t reinforced? I look at this companies products frequently, but I always worry. “Ah, they’ll be a hole there. Ah, another there.” Is this an ultralight concern, that reinforcements would make it too heavy?
MassdropologistWe offer seat and knee reinforcements as custom options - if this is something you want, just shoot me an email!

MassdropologistIt's not a huge issue unless you are fond of scraping your butt across logs, get lazy while wearing crampons in the tent, or stand next to campfires...or if you happen to actually hike in these on brushy trails with thorny plants. Even the 10d fabrics are surprisingly durable for the most part, but yeah, they are very thin and fine denier. With jackets that are worn with a pack, yes you can see some early wear in the areas where they are abraded by shoulder straps or a hip belt/padding, and even from stubbly chins, but if you can limit those abrasive scenarios these fabrics will last a long time. Easy to patch up with tenacious tape or silicone, too, if needed.

EatmydustHe offers various fill amounts for different levels of warmth, but whichever you might choose you are not going to find anything warmer for the weight than down pants like this (from Ben or anyone else). Harder to go UL in the winter of course but many people still do or just barely bump over the 10lb mark. Compare the weight of this with something like Montbell's down pants (even the older discontinued ones) and then compare also with like some Cap 4 or powerstretch fleece bottoms...Goosefeet and similar design down pants win by a longshot in both warmth and weight, even if you bump up the fill another ounce or two.

How small will they go in terms of packing? Anyone have a picture they can post with something for scale? Sounds like it doesn't come with a stuff sack but one could buy one and then get them really small, right?
bgpsThanks 3.5oz can stuff down to around the size of a nalgene bottle, the 5.5oz would be a little bigger.

Hi, do you also have measurements for the thigh & calfs on the medium? Also is the inseam waist to ankle bone? Is there a high rise on these above belt line? Help appreciated.
Ozzie3015The medium thigh will be around 26", calf around 18".
Inseam is crotch to ankle.
The rise will be a couple inches above the belt.

Thanks
djprForgot to mention the hip measurement. For the large, it should accommodate a max of around 45" hips.

Would the medium be ridiculously large on a female 5’7” 135 lbs? BTW, I’ve been fantasizing about down pants for winter camping for years;)
madlokiNo, I think they should work for you! The down helps to take up any extra space and the elastic waist can be cinched down a good bit. :)

would these be considered the baffled option on your website @GooseFeet ? Also why on your site do you recommend at least 5.5 fill? Thx
No, these are sewn-through. I recommend the 5.5oz of fill with the baffled option because of the extra space that is created with the box baffling.

what size do you get if you’re a 30 waist?
Miv06You should be good with the Medium and tightening the elastic waist. Or you could get a custom pair through my website. :)
