AnArcadianhonestly you're better off investing that extra money that the m9xx costs into a better pair of headphones and get a cheaper dac/amp. Most budget dac/amp combos have enough power to drive most headphones, bar some planars and a few really inefficient ones. I think you'll get more mileage for your money by investing in a more expensive headphone at this price point. But yes it's a fine match, I've owned the m9xx for a few years now and I've had no complaints. On high gain/power it even has enough juice to run even my famously inefficient Argons mk3s comfortably
