Hey Everyone! :) I'm sorry for sounding like a major audio newb, but I've owned the M9XX for a few years now and in the near future I'd like to setup a new desk with some nice speakers. It would be lovely if there was some way to use the M9XX to drive them but also use some kind of audio switcher like the 4 channel AMPs on Amazon to be able to switch between and ideally adjust the volume independently for the audio outs (e.g. desktop speakers, monitor speakers, and *maybe* two pairs of headphones). I think I can chain together a 4-channel amp with the M9XX using an appropriate cable, connecting the regular 1/4 inch output jacks in the front of the M9XX to the 4-channel amp's input. In that case, I think the M9XX would be functioning more as a DAC than an AMP then. I'd be concerned about degradation in audio quality if I didn't also use a high-end amplifier on the output, but I'm really not sure if that's a concern. If anyone has recommendations for how to make the M9XX work with that or a similar decent dac/amp product that would do that, I'm all ears. I realize that the M9XX might be somewhat overkill for what I need--I listen to "high quality" audio from Spotify and own a pair of Fostex X and Sennheiser HD 300s. Desktop speakers forthcoming. While I wouldn't want to part ways with the M9XX I'm really sick of switching audio sources using the Windows sound settings. Thanks for your kind help in advance. <3

ackramerI see no one has answered your question. In case you're still working on your new set-up. A monitor controller might be what you're looking for. Powered speakers/monitors should be easy to connect. Passive speakers will require an amp. Connecting an amp into the set-up might be tricky. To power passive speakers you might have to substitute the grace for a different dac/amp combo. Topping and smsl have some offerings in that regard but I don't have experience with them.
