I was interested when I saw the dual 1/4" plugs as I have been on the look out for an elegant high quality DAC with mic inputs. If an up date to this comes out that lets one of those work as an input I would be very interested.
At risk of taking the conversation offtopic, why would a DAC (digital-to-analog converter) have need for a pure-analog input? What purpose would that serve?
This is a DAC/Amp. A pure analog input allows you to use other sources (DACs/DAPs) and feed a line out signal (un-amped) and just use the amp part of the m9XX. Cheers!!
If you read the manual that is linked you'll note that the rear analogs are line outputs and not line inputs.
I would love to see something like that as well. I have used Grace headphone amps in the studio for cue mixes or live for in ears many times, so it would be wonderful to have one of their headphone amps of this size for that purpose. But, it's a bit much to expect in a device like this for this price point. I suppose something can be cobbled together with the Toslink input, for me it would just require a S/PDIF to Toslink adapter.
