Hi, I am looking at a DAC/Amp to be paired with the K7XX to be used for at least 5 years mainly for gaming, videos, listening to Pandora streaming and CD music will be mixed in too.
Is this overkill for my current usage as I am currently not an 'audiophile'.. yet...
I was initially looking at the O2+ODAC or an Amp from Garage1217 Starlight/Polaris but, I am tempted by the possibility of owning a premium, bang for the buck product by Grace Design.
Also, am I correct in stating that I wouldn't be able to run Dolby gaming surround using this DAC/Amp? Surround is not a deal breaker for me as I have never used it before, but would be nice to have for later on.
I am sure other gamers/students are wondering the same.
Thanks for your time.

Grace Service guy here. The m9xx does not do any additional processing like Dolby, just straight clean conversion. We've been making headphone amps since 2002 and they rarely come back for any problems. They are used everyday in professional environments so reliability is a key factor in our designs. The m9xx is a very stout design and it should last many, many years, if not forever!

No not Dolby. Maybe you can try the the Razer software for gaming. But, you don't need all that with this amp and those headphone.

I'll attest to that. I've been treating (read: abusing) Grace Design gear in ways that I'm embarrassed to admit for years and it has all held up admirably.
