Just got my M9XX and I love it. Drives my UE IEM's, Sony monitor headphones and my Beyerdynamic T1 with ease. The sound is clean without any distortion or sound artifacts with the volume turned low.
What I really want is a "on/off" button--say press the top dial in for 10 seconds since I think pulling the USB plug is a) more difficult for where the M9XX is mounted in my desk-side mini-rack. Also, it will put more stress on the connector. I guess I am going to have to get creative and unplug it at the wall side but that seems a shame for something that is a) so beautifully designed an b) does an amazing job. This is my goto headphone amp now.
If there is a version 2 or downloadable firmware update (?), please add some on/off feature that is not dependent on pulling a plug.
Great job guys.
KyleLBecause I travel and am gone for weeks at a time. I know this unit is "portable" but I have it in one place and it is not moving. I never turn off my computer so I get your point but I like to draw as few amps as possible (the computer hibernates after 3 hours of inactivity) when I am not around.
Having an easier method to turn the amp off helps those who want an on/off mechanism and does nothing to those who prefer to leave it on all the time. That's my design philosophy--try to address both groups where possible. Just my humble opinion.
