From Minnesota-based Granite Gear, this is a simple, functional duffel bag at its finest, featuring weather-resistant materials, versatile carrying options, and a fully packable design. It has a U-shaped zippered main compartment with a zipper storm flap, a Barrier zipper tricot-lined pocket for your valuables, and a number of MOLLE lash points for exterior gear attachment. The reinforced handle straps double as backpack straps, and the removable and adjustable shoulder strap gives you yet another way to haul your gear. Plus, each duffel comes inside a compact carrying case, which—once empty—can be used as an additional small compartment or toiletry kit. Attach it to a lash point or throw it inside the main compartment and you’re ready to go.
Note: At checkout, choose your bag size: 20” (base price), 24” (+ $7.50), 30” (+ $15), or 36” (+ $22.50). All sizes are available in basalt/flint, black/flint, and redrock/chromium. Quantities are limited to 10 units in each style.
During a paddling trip through Quetico Provincial Park in 1986, friends Jeff Knight and Dan Cruikshank decided the world needed better outdoor gear—and they wanted to have something to do with it. Not long after, Granite Gear was born. Today, it makes award-winning backpacks, stuff sacks, and other accessories for wilderness adventurers, travelers, students, and even soldiers in the field. The company takes its name from the toughness of its products, which have gained a cult-like following and proven their mettle in some of the world’s harshest environments, from Mount Everest to the North and South Poles.
