Okay, let me add my two cents in since I now have it and have used it for commuter lunches as well as on the trail.
1. First off, let me point out that I'm not suggesting you avoid this product at all. I'm simply sharing my points so that you will be completely aware of what you are looking to purchase.
2. The guy that invented it and created the video for it's first debut must have been a fool if he believes that Tupperware and/or Rubbermaid containers leak. At that, he'd have a hard time proving his green traveler is even less leak proof than them because it's actually more apt to leak than they would be.
3. The two larger center containers are NOT leak resistant in the slightest. The two end cups, however, are quite leak proof. I've tested this banging around on my backpack with only a carabiner attachment so you know it banged around quite a bit yet leaked not at all (referring to the end cups only).
4. All examples of it being used that you see are misleading. ALL photos of it holding food are misleading. Example: My first time using it, I could fit a half PB&J and about a dozen Fritos into one half of the central tube and the same into the other half of the central tube. Normal house bread, nothing big or fancy from a store; it was just a PB&J from home. I filled one end cup with more Fritos, because two dozen wasn't going to cut it for me, and the other end cup with PB Capt. Crunch (all time fav snack). So here I am, a full grown 42 year old man, with a single PB&J with some dry snacks to back it up. Not a fulfilling lunch, let me tell you. Conversely, hiking, I brought sushi and that little green traveler will hold quite a bit of sushi if you pack it in carefully. Seriously, a surprising amount.
So, I guess, to be positive, watch what you put into it or it won't hold as much as you'd like.
5. I'd have paid whoever the entire package price for just the insulated carrying case. IT IS PRICELESS in it's ability to maintain steady temperatures. I often throw bananas in it to take hiking so they won't freeze. Yeah, it's like that in The Rockies, lol.
Didn't mean for my bullet points to become paragraphs but I wanted to share my experience with the thing so far and, in case I didn't state it clearly, I am not happy with it. I find it mostly useless. Mainly because I can't wash and sufficiently dry it fast enough to use daily so it's merely a once in a while thing to use.
On the size issue, now that I realize I can add an image, let me show you a great size comparison by putting a Starbuck's Doubleshot can into one of the central containers. Also remember, it is only as thick as a single PB&J sandwhich. and we all know how small a Doubleshot is...
Don't avoid or dismiss this product based on my words alone, just be a well advised consumer.
