An update since my last post:
Mine have been going fine so far. Not sure if it's because I barely move it from their spot or because mine didn't end up being a dud. I will say that the corners of the top layer do feel weak, so maybe with even some occasional tussle they'll start peeling. I don't plan on moving mines anytime so I can live with it. I am a messy eater and trying to get anything that drops onto the top layer out of it will be next to impossible.
I don't notice when my wrists are resting on it when I'm typing, so that's probably a good sign of comfort. I do notice it when I use it as an elbow rest (usually with my head resting on my hand) since the material pushes back a bit from being pretty firm (not a bad thing). If you wanted something super fluffy then this is probably not for you. Hope this helps.
