How soft would you say a silver nib is compared to gold? Is it similar or slightly harder?
VenportHello, please note that silver nibs do not exist. The nibs are silver plated steel or solid gold made. Silver isn't a good metal, not enough flexible for nib work. Said so our nibs came for Bock German company ( you may google this name to see their quality) and both steel and gold are nicely flexible, the gold one more then steel obviously ( is the reason why gold nibs are made aside their added value). If you ask me I could answer that between a steel and a gold there is a 10-15 more flexibility on the gold. Both have same soft feeling I could say for the most part of us. Regards from Italy! Maurizio

StubnibMy bad, I was looking at the grip section specs, and I just noticed the actual nib specs slightly below that.
VenportNor sure to 100% undererstand (sorry but my english isn't so great...) . The grip section is made of solid 925 silver (then black gold plated), while the nib is a steel one always black gold plated. Hooping to have help you.. Regards Maurizio
