Are these buildable models or just a few snap-on pieces to a skeleton frame?

MochaShakaKhanI'm not sure what you consider to be snap-on to a skeleton frame. With this particular model, you build the base frame for each part (torso, head, R arm, L arm, R leg, and L leg), attach the armor pieces, then connect it to the rest of the model. It's not a whole skeleton that's premade, you're putting the skeleton together. Actually one of my favorites that I've made.

MochaShakaKhanThey are totally build able from scratch, including the inner frame but that is where half the enjoyment comes from, when you move a arm or leg and are intimately familiar with the inner workings its just a beautiful thing. Plus once you get into it you will love the customization potential of these things, just look online for examples! From painting to panel lining to whole cross kit combination the possibilities are endless really. If you ever need tips then come right back here! Nub marks are probably going to get you down at first so make sure to buy some FINE sanding supplies and a FLUSH plastic cutter and you will be all set for your first kit. Next step I recommend Panel lining with an enamel wash!

MochaShakaKhanNothing about it is pre assembled. It'll be about 18+ runners, cut off each piece and snap together the inner frame and then snap on everything else. No glue required at all, but you will have to snap together literally every piece.

MochaShakaKhanThey are complete, full-on model kits. With a Master Grade kit, the internal frame (skeleton) is built first, then the armor is attached to the frame itself, but that is a vast oversimplification. Generally the kit is built in stages (head, torso, arms, legs, waist, backpack, weapons). Don't let the fact that they are snap-together fool you. There is nothing childish or toyetic about these kits (although they are poseable once complete). Just as an example, here is the instruction manual for this particular kit. Take a look and see what you think:

DarkshadeThat's awesome, I've never build a master grade before so it sounded to me like the skeleton came pre-assembled and all you did was attach a few pieces to it. Glad to hear otherwise and thank you for all of the recommendations I greatly appreciate it!

MochaShakaKhanNo prob! May I suggest you come check out /r/gunpla on reddit? There are also (literally) thousands of websites and resources for Gunpla (GUNdam PLAstic models) online -- just search "Gunpla" and you'll find tons of stuff. It's a great hobby, although it can be a bit of a money sink, so be careful :D

MughiHaving built just about every Zoid from the HMM series (at least the ones I think are cool) I'm definitely intrigued by these. I guess I've always just remembered the Gundam's I built as kid being really cheap and boring so I never got back into them. On top of the fact that I'm hearing nothing but good things regarding the quality and articulation of these, they're about 1/3 of the price of most Zoids HMM so I can't see any reason not to at least give them a shot! Thank you again for the help and recommendations!

MochaShakaKhanThe ones you built as a kid were (I'm guessing) the old non-grade or high grade kits from either G Gundam or Gundam Wing. These new Master Grades are light-years away. If you've built Zoids HMM, then these are pretty much the same skill level and quality. If you're into painting and detailing, they are ideal for that, but they look solid as straight OOB builds, too.

MochaShakaKhanAnytime! there is also a gunpla thread that im going to be watching if you have any trouble (https://www.massdrop.com/talk/322/post-your-gunpla)
only a very few rare builds come with the inner frame pre assembled, the only one that comes to mind is the Hi-Resolution Barbatos if thats what your looking for. In this kit you are going to have a little pilot that you put in a little chair that you put in a little cockpit to almost never be seen again, thats how build able Master grades and up are!

MochaShakaKhanI cant say to this specific MG but my own MG build has AMAZING articulation, I have to sometimes copy its pose and look at myself just so i can make it look believable it can do so much!
