The arch rival of Unicorn Gundam, and the successor mobile suit to Char’s Sazabi, this intimidating Gundam is chock-full of weaponry. Fully poseable in 1/100th scale, it’s complete with a beam rifle with a grenade launcher, a pair of beam axes and beam sabers, and a large shield Read More
sadly in California the added tax makes this deal not a deal at all, my total after shipping and tax comes out to almost $63, whereas there are currently many listings on Amazon from japanese merchants for ~$65 shipped and no tax
How is the size compared to a standard MG? I have the RG 1/144 scale version and its the size of a 1/100 , so I figure this one is going to be bigger than a standard 1/100 ?
I just commented about this like the other week. Holy s***. I have the original Ver Ka. Only difference between this and the original is that this is made with polystyrene, and it comes with the bazooka. Before you would have to order this particular hobby magazine from Japan in order to get the Bazooka. Now you don't!
Unfortunately, the gold trims are actually stickers. I believe the RG (Real Grade) has the actual gold pieces on the sprews.
And I believe they fixed the torso that connects to the waist. I never had the problem with the original, but it was reported around the forums that the ABS would flex and eventually it would snap off. I don't think this one will anyway.
Anyways, I'm getting this. This will be my second Sinanju, and I'm indefinitely going to give this one a metallic coat. I did with the Ver Ka.
Lighting might be crap though, so sorry for the crap photos. Also keep in mind that this was my very first painted kit I did YEARS ago when I got back into the hobby seriously. Also I apologize in advance. It's been sitting on my shelf for quite some time so dust has collected on it. Painting it a metallic coat has made it a dust magnet.
Also considering that this is 49.99, that's dirt cheap compared to actual hobby stores in the city where you live.
In SF, it can range from 90-130$.
HLJ has it for about 56$ before shipping and tax.
Amazon has it for 65$ before tax with free shipping.
Tatsuhobby has it for 71.85$ before tax and shipping.
Amiami has it for about 50$ before shipping, not sure about tax.
Gundam Planet has it for 75.95$, no tax I think since its New York based, but there is shipping cost.
1999.co.jp has it for about 58$ roughly, not sure about tax and shipping.
So give and take, its worth the price. If you haven't built one, I highly recommend it. If this is your first MG, it can be a bit daunting as it's bigger than the average MG size Gunpla model. But I still recommend it.
It can pose extremely well, but keep in mind, this is still a model and not an action figure. I can still do the the full leg bends and the manipulators are from the Zaku 2.0 and Char Zaku 2.0 MG's. They're not the new 3.0 that you get on the RX 78-2 3.0 or the Nu Gundam Ver Ka. Still, it's an easy mod if you shave the plastic in between the fingers to get them to move individually.
All in all, and I'm sorry for this lengthly post : It's worth it. Get it.
Shipping Price - Free??
Usually t would say US Only or It would have My Country / Other Countries Flag.
This time its just the price. Meaning Free Shipping? (One can hope, right? ><)
EDIT: Nvm, shipping price comes out as soon as we click Join Drop (Havent been to MD for a while).
Shipping price is $31, might as well buy it locally =(
This kit's original retail price was only 7,500 yen or $65.32 not $98.70 or 11,333 yen. Not sure who is looking these up, but it's pretty deceiving. I also hope that you guys know the difference between the Animation OVA Version and the Ver. Ka version.
I actually prefer the ABS frame over the Polystyrene. After building over a dozen models, I can say the ABS holds up longer. Stronger plastic. But I understand that Bandai did it for cost reasons and it's easier to print them out and quicker too. My Nu Ver Ka is significantly lighter than my Ver Ka Sinanju by miles.
So I'm kind of confused by these, I've been seeing them on massdrop for some time.
The discount to me doesn't really seem to be worth that much? Whats the difference between this and one I can get off Amazon for $5 more (and 2 days shipping)
Even at the most people committed to the buy its only a 10 dollar difference. Is there something special with this one compared to others?
Maybe I shouldn't have been so hasty to get this link... Now I just want more models. O.o My backlog is too big already! @Markolise, seriously though, thanks for sharing!
