Glad to see it was just a bad cable, best of luck with the new cable.
Once you get it up and running I recommend (if you can) to let it play music for about 100hours (about 4-5 days) for it to fully burn it in. After that you can do other modifications like op-amp rolling if you ever feel like you want to try something new (I currently have a few coming my way to experiment with).
Also for the Q/K701's I have read previously that setting the H10 to +6 on the pre gain helps greatly. On the back near the RCA/XLR inputs are dip switches. Just flip the +6 switch on each side one at a time and keep the unbalanced dip switch down if you are using RCA, or flip it up if you are using XLR to switch to balanced mode.

Haha thank for your reply. I plan to do the burning in as soon as my cable received. And what is op-amp rolling? I never did that before... Besides, do you own a Q701? If so, which DAC would you recommend? Also, I read some articles about balanced amps, and they said these amps need to pair up with balanced headphones, which Q701 does not belong to. Does that mean H10 has an unbalanced output so that it doesn't need headphones to be balanced version?
