I have the viewmatic, one of my favorite watches. The band is high quality and looks great and the case sizing fits perfect on my wrist. The pricing is average but you can find some of the selections for cheaper online. Still a good pickup if you're looking for your first watch.

I love my Jazzmaster open heart, though it's stainless. IMO looks much classier/elegant than the rose gold finish. Bought mine at an AD for not that much more than this; I wouldn't sacrifice the factory warranty on such a nice piece for the savings here.

I don't think the specs listed are accurate. The pictures show versions using the Powermatic 80 which runs at 21600 vph, has a power reserve of 80 hours and has 23 jewels. The spec lists a movement with 80 hour power reserve, 25 jewels and runs at 28800, which doesn't exit to my knowledge. The Powermatic 80's components are all made to run at 21600 and all the gear ratios are designed as such, even if you threw in a higher frequency escapement, the watch wouldn't run properly and would run way too fast. The 2824 has a power reserve of 38 hours, 25 jewels and runs at 28800 vph.

JustawayYep, they messed up. H-10 is, AFAIK, the basic Powermatic 80 with Hamilton engraving. More or less equivalent to a standard grade 2824. H-40 is same, with day-date added. I don't offhand recall seeing these in the other Swatch Group brands that use the several Powermatic versions (Mido, Certina, Tissot) but I could've just missed it.
And yeah, Hammys are pretty widely available gray market, so you can generally assume 20, 25% off without looking much. And yeah, I saw the Viewmatic on Jomashop for somewhat less.

My very first mechanical watch was a Hamilton Jazzmaster Power Reserve. Pretty similar watch, just power reserve complication added.
I've had it for 12 years, and even though I have much higher brands in my collection still really enjoy wearing it.

The day-date is pure class. If I weren't saving up for something else I'd be all over it.

Not so great price, Hamiltons are often discounted, you can find comparable or better deal.

I have the one in black here, but on the steel bracelet. One of my absolute favorite watches, not only because the movement is accurate and reliable - and I can take it off for the weekend and just plop it back on first thing Monday morning: no winding or setting necessary - but also because the dial is pretty near perfect aesthetically (for my taste, of course). It’s a classic look, I think beautifully realized (minimal text, subtle and elegant indices and layout, gorgeous true black dial that in some light appears glossy and in others there is a faint sunburst!). It’s the little things like the black day and date wheels, the barely noticeable and still practical enough lume on the hands (lume on the indices is useless), and the slightly domed anti reflective sapphire on top.
This price + tax isn’t the best (try Jomashop, where I bought mine), but is certainly reasonable, at least for the black one shown here. I’d be very happy to pay this much for it, knowing how great a watch it is now.
