To all who's going to purchase this watch, please note: it comes with ETA C07.611 Powermatic 80 movement and not with ETA 2824 pictured on Massdrop. While the movement Hamilton uses is top grade and apparently fine it is almost impossible to service or regulate at independent watchmaker and must be brought or sent to Hamilton for service or adjustment.

brainwavecompletely untrue. Any decent watchmaker can service this watch. You definitely do NOT have to send it back to Hamilton. You would just need a watchmaker who has an account with swatch and can source ETA parts.

dobbermnTo service ETA watch a decent watchmaker do not need to source parts from ETA. It's enough to buy ETA parts on the open market or just buy new assembled ETA movements for parts. It's much cheaper in the end to both the watchmaker and ultimately to the client. The ETA C07.611 movements regulated at the factory using precision laser calibrating equipment your local watchmaker unlikely has in their possession. Unlike regular ETA 2824 that uses adjusting screw to tighten the balance spring, the ETA C07. XXX movements use two counterbalancing weights integrated directly into the balance wheel. To adjust these watchmaker will need special ETA manufactured tools to hold balancing wheel in place and special training to do the service. Even if they have all of the above and will be able to do this work the cost to you will be significantly higher and comparable to the cost of bringing or sending a watch to ETA licensed service center.
