Swiss watch company Hamilton has been in business for nearly 130 years. Its designs run the gamut, but a theme runs throughout each piece: quality craftsmanship. The Hamilton Railroad Small Seconds automatic is a handsome everyday watch with a twist. Instead of a running seconds hand that circles the dial, it tracks seconds via a subdial spanning from 7 to 9 o’clock. Where does the railroad inspiration take hold? On the outer chapter ring on both the subdial and main dial. The markers and hands are slim and slightly pointed, drawing attention to the center of the dial. Inside the stainless steel case is Hamilton’s H-22 25-jewel automatic movement with a 42-hour power reserve. And because you’re likely to get a little dirty out on the tracks (if you ever wear it there), the watch is water resistant to 50 meters.
