AlicetinerYou will never pay MSRP on Amazon. Never.
I paid $80 including converter for a fountain pen made by a Japanese company (Platinum) from a Japanese vendor on Amazon. From an American company direct? $176 for the same pen. Plus the converter ($7.50) Not as extreme perhaps, but it is a good illustration. Plus jewelry items have ridiculous markups.
I just bought at a going out of business sales an item for my wife from a major jewelry retailer for $49.99. MSRP on this item? $429.00. So just under 90% off retail. (88.35%)
That type of stuff happens frequently. I am sure they still made a profit on the item at $49.99, just not what they would make even at $200.
Runnin_UteI'm not sure what to make of your post. One, the other items you mentioned have nothing to do with this drop, and two, some items do sell for MSRP on Amazon. If your point is that no one should ever expect to see MSRP as an actual price for watches, then I sort of get that. It's defiantly true for almost every watch that shows up on Massdrop. The MSRP listed at this website are almost never the actual retail price anywhere else.
Runnin_UteWell, Amazon IS selling this at the same price as here. My point was that I thought there would be a price advantage to the drops sold here, but in many of them, that's not the case.
