Also highly recommended, but worth noting IMO that it's one of those games that, despite first existing as a physical edition, actually works much better online. Both BGA and Keldon have great browser versions that add convenience of hint tracking without cheapening the game or lessening the challenge.
That said, I've never seen the physical edition for under $10, and I've bought it twice.
I actually played it online at BGA before playing the physical edition, so I can definitely see where you're coming from. The online version is definitely much more easier to learn and play. It was actually quite annoying when I played the physical version and had to keep asking people to remind me of which hints were given to me!
