I got mine today, ordered it through the Christmas drop. It looks great although I think that the MSRP $55 is way too much for this wallet. I mean it's gorgeous and you can feel the quality craftsmanship in every bit of it but its still just a piece of leather folded into half with a cut in it. Don't get me wrong, I simply love the wallet and I was more than happy to pay the lowest price for it but the original price seems crazy for me with a Hungarian standard of living

ManielloCompletely agree with you. It's good quality and all that and also the craftmanship of it being hand made definitely exists, but it somehow doesn't give the sense of feeling of it being special. Still a nice wallet for everyday carry usage, but i hope it becomes more attractive as the leather ages from usage.

ManielloSorry to hear that you aren't 100% happy. As you might notice, the design of the wallet is simple for a reason, to give ultimate usability with minimal seams for a very strong wallet.
I think that simplifying it to "a piece of folded leather" is unfair. I have to cut each piece of leather entirely by hand, including the placement of the "slit" and holes so that your cards will fit perfectly the first time. Cutting something by hand in itself takes around 20+minutes, add all of the small bits (rounded corners, dyed + finished edges, burn in crease) as well as entirely punching the holes and stitching and materials, you can see where all of the costs come from.
Theres ways to make it cheaper, which most people would do (no finishing, use a punch, sewing machine) but that's not something you get with Hand and Sew. I don't cut any corners. Every single step a long the way from design, materials, to production, are done in such a way to have the best end product possible.
