I have a question about quality and durability.I am not familiar with quality leather products or owning one for an extended period of time, so take no offense.

How long can I expect this to last? A wallet that I purchased about 4 years ago is still in decent shape with a few rips, holes and loose stitching here and there (wow that does not sound like "decent" shape to me). Can I expect the same from the Hand and Sew: Simple Wallet?
Should I be worried about it ripping, tearing, things coming loose with normal wear and tear? This is a stellar price and don't think I would mind it only lasting a year or so but a general timeline would be very helpful.
Also is there some kind of special care I should know about vegetable-fed leather? Can it get wet or too ice over, what happens in hotter or humid temperature?

Sorry about all the questions. Seriously a beautiful product with a great sense of pride.
JohnJohnHey John, Great to hear that you're interested in some Hand and Sew products!
In terms of durability, I've personally been using the same wallet for close to a year (as you can see in the pictures) without any problems whatsoever. The construction of the wallet (thick leather, with heavy handsewn stitches) means that it will essentially never fail under normal use. You would have to literally cut it apart for failure to happen. Even at that point, because of the saddlestitch I use, the stitches DON'T pull apart like a regular machine sewn stitch.

It's actually vegetable-tanned leather. It doesn't need any special care, but if you are using it in a fairly dry environment, I would recommend oiling it once a year (or using any leather conditioner) to keep it soft.
It can withstand water and and extreme temperatures, just let it air dry, and give it a coat of conditioner.

Hope this answers all of your questions. If any other concerns come up, please feel free to leave a comment here. I will be watching and replying until all of the wallets are shipped and in your hands!

Thanks
-Steven
