Hanwag Tashi Boot

Designed for both city sidewalks and mountain trails, the Tashi boot by Munich-based Hanwag features a hydrophobic upper made of black yak leather, which is sourced from the Lhasa Leather Factory in Tibet. A double-stitched construction, shock-absorber heel, and Vibram outsole completes the hard-wearing design. For comfort, the boot is made with a chrome-free lining and a soft leather-padded cuff, while deep-pull lacing ensures a snug fit. And thanks to the cemented construction, the Tashis can be resoled time and time again.

Named for its founder, Hans Wagner, Hanwag brings traditional craftsmanship and sophisticated technical expertise to every pair of boots in its product line. Made with materials sourced exclusively from European suppliers, the uppers, lining, and reinforcements are prepared using simple, hand-operated machinery before being double-stitched. The craftsmen then use special techniques to enhance air circulation and reduce the number of seams, which minimizes rubbing and pressure points.
