kamandi@kamandi Thanks for your reply but MD eventually replied. I would point out that for many of us it is important for sizing reasons to know if the inner can be removed. I have to order a 1/2 size up usually if there is no support and no inner.
Most of my boots are waterproof even though I prefer not to have them. My non-waterproof boots seem to work as well as my leather Gortex boots. If I really hike long my feet always seem to get wet, Gortex or no. They will get that way from overtopping or just perspiration. High end aggressive orthodontics (carbon fiber) will cut right through Gortex. I know from previous experience. I end up using off the shelf insoles for Gortex boots.
