I was dubious of the Havalon Piranta when I first bought one for skinning game, but after several recommendations from other hunters I gave one a try and was blown away by how much better it is than a traditional skinning knife. The Piranta is perfect for small game like rabbits up to medium size game like deer. I bought the Baracuta for big game like elk and it has worked just as well as the smaller Piranta, but the bigger size is perfect for those larger pelts. The blades are surgically sharp and make processing game a breeze. At the same time they're tough enough to cut through vertebrae and flexible enough to slip between joints to separate the cartilage for a clean field dressing. I highly recommend these for any hunter. They make field dressing a breeze and cleaning them afterwards is super easy with the simple construction and materials that don't allow all the guts to get crammed into lots of nooks and crannies.
