I have this watch and really like it. The mecha-quartz is a great way to integrate mechanical movements into a quartz reliability (this is done is higher end quartz movements). It has a quick reset chrono as a result, so if you time something for longer than 60 seconds you don't need to wait 30 seconds for the hands to reset to start the timer on the chrono again.
I am a little shocked that people are saying $149 is expensive for a quartz watch. I think this watch is a good value at $249. It comes with two bands, stainless steel with solid construction and a brown leather with a quick release clasp, which is what I use. My wife loves the look of the watch as well and I get numerous compliments about it at work. I also bought their hornet model at full clip $299 and love the watch.
As a frame of reference, I have quartz movements that are $40 - $1600. Quartz does not equal cheap and the watches that are being compared are very different models and almost all watches in this price range are for a mineral crystal, not a saphire crystal and a standard quartz movement, not a mecha-quartz.
I think if you like the looks of the watch and like chrono's, this watch is a great buy.
