I could run this in line with my hilidac atom pro, but then I'd have $250 worth of dongles swinging around. Looks like a quality compact inline amp, just not sure its for me. It'd be cool if they added a nice DAC chip that you could choose to turn on or off.... just spit balling here....
Well, you might want to stay tuned to what's happening at Helm. The Helm Audio BOLT might not stop the swinging adapter issue, but it delivers MQA rendering in a very tiny footprint. (https://helmaudio.com/products/boltdac)
I got on the pre-order for the bolt after you mentioned it. It took FOREVER to ship but it sounds pretty damn good. Not a fan of having to purchase an app to use it though.
