missing MQA Support? bummer....
Thank you for the Reply! i will Most Definitely check it out
Why would it support MQA if it's not a DAC? Seriously this is like the 4th comment I've had to make about something similar. If you are commenting or complaining please at least take the time to learn the difference between an DAC, an AMP, and combo DAC/AMP devices...
Why are you complaing about people commenting. Did we ask you? if you think you are that smart than waste your time on somewhere else rather than trolling here buddy
He makes quite a solid point though. If you don't understand the differences between these kinds of devices.
If you had gone off of just saying it doesn't have mqa support and left it at that, you'd be doing the device and yourself an injustice.
In the world of audio there's quite a good bit to learn, some of which is optional.
The differences in what a dac, amp, or dac amp combo are and why one would or would not have a codec compatibility is something I feel is fairly essential.
Why are you complaining about a product when you don't understand what it does? It's only fair I comment on how wrong you are if you are going to post on a public forum as it can give others the wrong idea. If you can't stand being corrected well then don't comment =)
Serious question, ignoring that this is just an amp, why do you care about MQA in a DAC? It does nothing other lossless formats already do, and adds drm? Why would you want drm in your music?
Perhaps because his primary source is a streaming platform such as TIDAL or similar. It's one of the more common reasons.
(sorry for the necro)
From what I gather, when it's done properly that is... MQA is supposed to have the effect that a DSD might have versus flac.
Please bear in mind I am NOT being literal in this sense. It's just for frame of reference.
But yeah, in the vein of generically what DSD should offer in it's generically better conceptual uptick in sound quality is kinda how the MQA thing is supposed to roughly be.
When it's done right it's beyond stellar, when it's done lackadaisically it's basically shit.
I would surmise they have an album they enjoy the sound of in MQA, they're hung up on the concept of MQA, or... well you know, insert negative connotation here I suppose.
