I wonder how well it will work when combined with a dac like a cobalt. Ill be interested in getting feedback on that. I have a cobalt and it might be worth using both, but only of they work well together.

FISTDEYUMAI'm not sure why you would have a need for this if you have a cobalt, similar power specs into 32 ohms. Are you interested just because it has THX modules? FYI the mobile modules are not the same level of performance as the 788 or 888 modules you find in desktop amps. Will it work, most certainly, is there any reason... not that I can see.

FISTDEYUMAFWIW - I've had the good fortune of using the DB12 AAAMP with some HELM DAC prototypes and if you listen to your headphones at "decent" volumes (I don't want to encourage hearing loss but some of us are well on the way to that destination regardless) the DB12 AAAMP has plenty of power and the whole THX AAA zero-distortion technology is something to behold. I don't believe that the experience would be much different with a competitor's DAC. If you like it mobile, loud, and crystal clear, the DB12 AAAMP delivers the goods.
