That cable design looks horrible. Not only does it appear to not be removable/replaceable, but they put the controls so that they'll smack into my jaw? Ideally I'd like the controls integrated into the y-splitter so they're easy to operate with either hand, but not only is this one handed operation only, but it's way up by the ear? Oh well, I wouldn't buy it anyways because the non-detachable cable alone is a no-go for me. >80% of the time stock IEM cables aren't very good and I swap them for better aftermarket ones. But to put the controls in that location? Utter stupidity!

MastiffMikeThis! 100% this! Massive damn fail. First non replaceable cables are a must at this price point, no stupid excuses. Second that control is above the Y splitter by your face? Third the braided part of the cable is the lower part and we all know the breaks happen by the monitors most often hencing losing sound in one side so why even bother? This seems to do a lot of things right and then that cable and it's just wet fart sound.

frontsidebusI agree with the cable issue. The one thing that struck me weird was these are advertised as planars. I mean how true is that at this price point? Something seems off. a no go for me.

androidknee55There are quite a few planar IEMs at this price and below. The Moondrop Stellaris is the same price, and the S12 is the same regular price but currently on sale for $10 more ($120). The Salnotes Dioko and TinHiFi P1 Max are both $99 and there are others that are much cheaper from KZ (PR1, Pr1 Pro, etc.), Kinera (Celeste Pandamon and Gumiho), TRN ($30), CCA ($64), etc. Heck, there are planar full size headphones for less than $80. Planar drivers aren't inherently better, they're just different. Some implementations can do some things better than DD's, but then they also can do things worse. Depending upon your needs/wants/priorities, planars might be poor choice so don't be swayed by marketing gimmicks or "the latest fad" (which planar IEMs were a year ago, less so nowdays).

androidknee55Low cost planar IEMs are a thing and the new "trend" for lack of a better term. Driver type doesn't have the impact on price people think. There are 20 buck estat IEMs and 1500 buck dynamics.

MastiffMikeThanks! Waiting for a "true" planar IEM. I had a pair of the original Audeze Sine headphones but I literally wore them out. The search continues....

rhurlebausNo. I don't advise supporting KZ and their shady business practices and unethical operation. Also, even Chris (HBB) said NOT to buy his collab because of the shady crap KZ pulled shortly after release. There's are plenty of companies that deserve the audio community's dollars, KZ is not one of them.
