Reasonably good looking but gimmicky and of poor quality
After waiting months for delivery, the watch finally arrived. When I opened it I liked how it looked. I then read the instructions and associated manual and began adjusting the settings. The buttons are crown are unnecessarily large and the buttons are unreliable (sometimes the cause action, sometimes not). Overall, not a very impressive piece, even for the price.
I've own a number of Chinese watches over the years. All cost me ~$20 each. All worked just fine. They don't last forever. I get 2 to 5 years of everyday use out of them before they die. I paid 5 times as much for this watch and it was DOA. The rotor doesn't move freely in the auto-wind mechanism. It hangs up in several places.
This is the first time I've had an issue with something I bought from Drop. The watch looks cheap like the $20 watches I have. I didn't expect a lot but did expect it to look better than the $20 watch and expected it to run for a few years anyway.
I don't recommend this watch at all. Was surprised by the very low quality for $100.
I returned this watch. This is the only item I have returned to Drop or to any company in the past 2 years. The design and style are well executed and the watch is worth about $100. I liked the pictures, but the watch did nothing for me when it arrived. I do own other watches from Drop and love them.
The face and hands (sweeping second) show the effort taken to show a brand that means business. The band is comfortable and thick. The case has a good heft to it. The ability to change month, day of the week and calendar date independently is much appreciated. Being able to manually wind the watch renders an automatic winder unnecessary. I won't use this as a daily since it's only water resistant and has a leather band. (My wrist eats leather)
I don't like that the bottom edges to the case were not given any attention. They're sharp. The crown does not rotate. I like to fidget with crowns and hear the clicks. These are forgivable since they made controls for each of the complications. In a perfect world... Heritor Lucious and Conrad or on my hit list now. Drop make it happen.
At first I wasn’t super excited about it, but when the watch came it looks really good and feels high quality. Also isn’t too big for my wrist which I thought it would be
