It's SOTA for the real world. Better than any headphone under $2K I know of. Allow choices of cable length, pad type, do away with the fluff. Note: Make the bass more contiguous with the mids. I'll spend $349 for a pair all day long ($170 for MD-4xx). I'm losing faith in this drop, so I'm looking at buying another used HE-500 so I'll be able to have one working for many years on. It's a goldmine folks. Look how well he 4xx did. At $349, should sell at least 1/2 as well.
$349 is too tight with the Sundara at $400-450, and the 560 v2 at $299. Go upscale to $599-649 range. Yes pad choices, cable choices (bal and RCA, length)
OK, HFM has re-released the bigger brother of the HE-500 - the HE-6 as the 6SE for $1800 list. They have the Sundara at $500, the Ananda at $999, and the 6SE at $1800. Huge hole in the HFM line centered at $750 list. Time to bring these back.
