What's warranty like for these? Is this directly from HiFiMan, or a 3rd party?

SamMassdropthere is no warranty through HiFiMAN for this. If you want a warranty, then buy from an authorized HiFiMAN dealer, not a gray market deal coming from some overseas dealer that's about to get their contract terminated for a few quick bucks. Yes, dealers have to advertise at $699, but you can sometimes get better deals by asking nicely.

As with all things sold through our platform, we cover warranty requests. If your HE-500 has any kind of problem during the normal warranty period (or a bit beyond honestly) let us know and we'll solve it : )
We'll be shipping these out as quickly as possible, our warehouse is very busy right now (holiday season and what not) but suffice to say, you'll have an HE-500 by christmas backed by a full warranty.

WillSo what's the deal with shipping?
I noticed a person in here roughly saying to be prepared for it to take a month for the headphones to arrive. Then a reply saying everything had been worked out since last time, then they will be here by the 24th, and then the warehouse is really busy.
Meanwhile my purchase status has been stuck on "pending" and I've yet to be billed since the drop ended/receive a reply to my email. Granted it is the weekend I am seeing replies by you guys here which is cool.
There a possible range you can give us besides before Christmas?

Normally we place orders once the Massdrop is over but we placed the orders for HE-500 and HE-400s before the buys even launched. The HE-500s are on their way from our old warehouse to our new one (both in so-cal, just moved warehouses since we outgrew the old one) and they're due to arrive tomorrow.
Once they land at the new warehouse we'll do our best to get them shipped out with tracking info on wednesday or thursday.
We wanted to make sure everyone knew they'd get it before Christmas but if things go REALLY smoothly (and you live in so-cal) you might get yours before December.
